Time Machine: your XI against the greats
The Time Machine is a free cricket game for fans of history. Pick an XI from every era of T20 on record within a points budget, then take on a side from a World Cup knockout. The match is played ball by ball, and you watch its key moments.
How to play
- Search for players with ten or more T20 matches on record and add eleven.
- Keep to the rules: one keeper, five bowling options, at most four players from any one decade, and 100 points in all.
- Set your batting order; the first player is your captain.
- Pick an opponent and play the match.
- Watch the key moments, then read the scorecard, wagon wheel, charts and commentary.
Scoring
A win scores 70 to 100 by its margin, with the full 100 for 40 runs or 8 wickets. A loss by 10 runs or less, or by one wicket, scores 30. A tie is settled by a super over.
Eras and ratings
Each player's era is the decade of his first T20 on record, and his rating is adjusted to the modern game. You can play each opponent once a day for points.
