Scorecard quiz: find the top scorer

Scorecard Detective is a free daily cricket puzzle. You get the real batting card of one innings from a notable match, with the top scorer's name hidden. Work out who it was from the runs, the balls and the match. A new card comes at midnight India time.

How to play

  1. Study the card: the teams, the ground, the date and every batter's runs and balls.
  2. Search for the hidden batter and make a guess; you have three.
  3. Reveal up to three clues if you need them: how he was out, his role and country, and the year of his first match in that format.
  4. Name him, or see who it was after your third guess.

Scoring

A hidden row starts at 100, less 25 for each clue and 10 for each wrong guess. You can also ask for four choices at a clue's price.

Hardest on Sunday

Cards run from easy on Monday to the hardest on Sunday, when the top two scorers can both be hidden. A match is not used again for 60 days.
