Guess the cricketer: a free daily puzzle
Guess the Cricketer is a free daily puzzle: name the mystery cricketer from clues, in as few guesses as you can. There is one new player every day at midnight India time, the same for everyone, so you and your friends are guessing the same name.
How to play
- You start with one clue: the player's role and his country.
- Search for a player and make a guess; you have six.
- Each guess shows how its country, role, debut year, teams and matches compare with the mystery player's.
- Every wrong guess brings the next clue, up to five in all.
- Name him, or see who it was after your sixth guess.
The five clues
In order: who he is, when he first played and in which formats, his career figures, the franchise he played for most (or none), and his initials. Only the clues you have earned are sent to your phone.
Scoring
The fewer guesses you need, the more you score. The puzzle runs from easy on Monday to the hardest on Sunday.
Questions
Is there a guess the cricketer game every day?
Yes. A new mystery cricketer comes at midnight India time, the same for everyone, and it is free to play.
How many guesses do I get?
Six. You see one clue at the start and one more after each wrong guess, up to five clues.
Does it use player photos?
No. You guess from clues and facts from the records, never from a face.
Why can't I find an older player?
The players made their debut in 2004 or later, when the records the puzzle uses begin, so earlier greats aren't in it.
