Cricket wordle: guess the five-letter word
Five Letters is a free daily cricket wordle. Guess today's five-letter word in six tries: a cricket word or a player's surname, and a card above the board tells you which kind. A new word comes at midnight India time, the same for everyone.
How to play
- Read the clue card: a fielding word, a batting shot, a bowling word, the kit or the pitch, a match word, or a surname.
- Type a five-letter word and press Enter.
- Each letter shows whether it is in the right place, in the word elsewhere, or not in it.
- Use those colours to narrow it down within six guesses.
Scoring
Solve it in one and you score 100, with 10 less for each guess after that. A word that isn't on the list doesn't use up a guess.
Surname days
On a surname day, the clue names the country of the best known player with that name, and once the word is out you see a short card about him from the records.
Never twice in a year
No answer comes back within a year, so every day's word is new to you.
Questions
Is there a cricket wordle?
Yes. Five Letters is a daily cricket wordle: six tries at a five-letter cricket word or surname, free, and new at midnight India time.
What do the colours mean?
One colour marks a letter in the right place, another a letter in the word but elsewhere, and a third a letter not in the word.
Can I play old words?
A day you missed in the last week can be unlocked in Catch up and played as practice, which never counts towards your streak or points.
