Best XI: pick the best eleven on a budget
Best XI is a free daily cricket team puzzle. You get thirty players with prices and a 100 crore purse: pick the strongest eleven you can afford, with every role covered. Then see how close you came to the best eleven. A new list comes at midnight India time.
How to play
- Look through today's thirty players, their prices and their career stats.
- Pick eleven within 100 crore.
- Include a keeper, at least five bowling options and at most four overseas players.
- Lock in your eleven; you get one try.
- See each player's hidden value and the best eleven you could have picked.
Scoring
Each player has a hidden rating. The best legal eleven scores 100, and simply buying the dearest eleven the purse allows scores 50. Your eleven scores along that line, or lower if it is worth less than the dearest.
Why price isn't everything
Prices run from 25 lakh to 20 crore and are spread differently each day, so the market gets some players wrong both ways. The eleven best players cost far more than the purse, so the bargains decide it.
