Mock auction game: build a squad with friends
The auction is a free mock auction game. Bid for players against nine computer franchises, each with its own bidding style, or against friends in a live auction, from a 120 crore purse. Build a squad of 18 to 25, then manage it through a 13-day season. It plays in your browser and in the app.
How to play
- Pick a franchise, a name and your colours, then choose Quick (about 60 players, 15 minutes) or Full (about 200 players, 45 minutes).
- Players come up in sets: bid, pass, or stay in up to a price and let your table bid for you.
- Use right to match on a player who last played for your franchise, and bring unsold players back in a final round.
- Get your squad's grade, with its bargains and overpays, and share its card.
- Manage the squad through a season: pick the team and the plan, and each evening's match plays by itself.
With friends
Set up a live auction, choose when it starts and share the link: friends take a franchise in the lobby, first come, first served, and the computer bids for any franchise nobody took. The host can pause the room or skip a player. Afterwards everyone plays the season together.
The season
Thirteen days: nine league days against the other owners, then the playoffs. You manage the team, you don't bat or bowl: send a team sheet before each evening's match, at a time you choose, and the match plays by itself. Watch the replay ball by ball. You sign in to play a season, and the winner lifts a trophy for the cabinet.
Questions
How do I play a mock auction with friends?
Set up a live auction, choose when it starts and share the link. Up to ten can join, and the computer bids for any franchise nobody took. Or play solo, then send friends a link to take the other teams in your season.
Can I play the auction without friends?
Yes. A solo auction pits you against nine computer franchises, each bidding with its own style, and its season is played against their teams.
Is the auction free?
Yes. Nobody pays to bid or play, and nobody plays for money. What you build is your squad and its grade.
How long does an auction take?
A quick auction has about 60 players and takes about 15 minutes. A full one has about 200 players and takes about 45.
Do I need the app?
No. It plays in your browser and in the app, with the same account.
